Collegeville on the Map at Verbum Dei

Every student graduating from Verbum Dei High School in Watts, Los Angeles will attend college next year—a triumph for this urban-core Catholic school. Six of those students will come to Saint John's.

It's no surprise that these students from sunny California found Saint John's University. When former admission representative, Anne McCarney '02, became an English teacher at Verbum Dei, she began working with the CSB/SJU admission office to connect talented high school students to Saint John's. Since then, Verbum Dei students have been coming to Saint John's each year.

Christian Aguilar '11, one of the first Verbum Dei recruits, is joining the CSB/SJU admission staff this year.
