Become an RA:

Requirements to be an RA:

  • Current, full-time student at Saint John's University
  • Two semesters of college experience upon taking the position
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50
  • Good conduct standing with the University (A student who has been or is currently on disciplinary probation may be deemed ineligible to serve in the role)
  • Participation in all Residential Life training programs
  • Ability to fulfill specific RA position responsibilities
  • Commitment for a full academic year (unless hired on a semester basis)

RA Application Timeline (to be an RA in 2024-2025)

New RA Applicants:

  • Information Session #1: Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 6:30 pm in Quad 170. 
  • Information Session #2: Tuesday, December 12, 2023, 5:00 pm via zoom. (https://csbsju.zoom.us/j/98905666160)
  • Information Session #3: Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 1:30 pm via zoom. (https://csbsju.zoom.us/j/99746745487)
  • Information Session #4: Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 5:00 pm in Sexton 200
  • Online application form is due Monday, January 22, 2024 at 12:00 pm
  • 3 essay responses are due Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:59:59 pm
  • FR and RA recommendations are due Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:59:59 pm
  • Interview with FR and RA teams (February 3-11, 2024)
  • Interview Round 2, if necessary (February 12-16, 2024)
  • Notification sent to candidates on Monday, March 4, 2024
  • Candidates return acceptance forms by Monday, March 11, 2024

    Returning RA Applicants:

    • Application form and essays are due Monday, January, 22, 2024 at 12:00 pm
    • 2 essay responses are due Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:59:59 pm
    • Notification sent to candidates on Monday, March 4, 2024
    • Candidates return acceptance forms by Monday, March 11, 2024

    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50
    • Good conduct standing with the University (A student who has been or is currently on disciplinary probation may be deemed ineligible to serve in the role)
    • Participation in all Residential Life training programs
    • Fulfill specific SOA position responsibilities
    • Commitment for a full academic year (unless hired on a semester basis)
    • Prior leadership experience preferred
