Round Table Discussions 2001-02

November 1, 2001 - Building a Successful Team: Carol Howe-Veenstra, CSB Athletic Director, presented ideas and strategies that work for building a sports team and that could apply to you and your "team" of student employees.  True to form, Carol presented a dynamic and energetic session to an attentive audience.  If you would like additional information or handouts, contact Carol Howe-Veenstra.

November 27th & 28th, 2001 - On-campus Internships: This session provided information on designing internships and supervising an intern. For more information on setting up an internship in your office, contact CSB/SJU Internships.

December/January - A group of CSB and SJU employees and student employee supervisors were involved in a book reading and discussion group on Zapp! The Lightning of Empowerment. The discussion provided an opportunity to share what "Zapps" and what "Sapps" employees and teams.  Copies of this book are available in both Student Employment Offices.

February 11, 2002 - What Can Student Supervisors Do?  What Roles Do They Play?  A panel of student supervisors talked about their employment responsibilities and the transferable life skills that they are learning as a result of their employment.  The panelists were:  Kurt Assman, Student Manager in SJU Dining Services, Jennifer Sainsbury, Operations Manager at the Haehn Campus Center, and Andy Nicoli, CSB/SJU Telecommunications Supervisor in the Admission Office.

March 4, 2002 - KAI Part Scores:  Paul Marsnik, Associate Profession of Management, continued the discussion of thinking styles by interpreting the KAI part scores. 

March 14, 2002 - Rewards and Awards for Student Employees:  Deb Guertin, CSB/SJU Music Department and Barb Fahnhorst, CSB/SJU Financial Aid/Student Employment
