Making a Living While Making a Difference

January 30, 2008, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Quad 264, SJU

Number of Attendees:  19

Presenters:  Christine Munger, Companions on a Journey, and Rick Scheierl, Core Curriculum Instructor

After a lovely meal, Christine and Rick led a discussion of Benedictine values and how they relate to careers and making a difference in the world.  Participants choose three Benedictine values that “spoke to them” and discussed these values in small groups.  Through the discussion of “values”, Christine and Rick talked about individual gifts and passions that we bring to the world.

While the connection was vague, hopefully participants understood that the best way to make a difference in the world is to work in a field where we have passion and where the values are in line with our own values.
