Motivation in the Workplace
Do I have to Be Here? ... Do I Want to Be Here?
The fourth in the series of the SELT Professional Development sessions for 2000-01 was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in Alumnae Hall, CSB. Approximately 75 supervisors were in attendance at this breakfast program.
The session was presented by Diane Moeller, Principal of Kennedy Elementary. Diane’s presentation was based on small group discussions to define the elements of quality in the work environment, to utilize Glasser's Choice Theory to increase the level of quality in the work environment, and to analyze power in the workplace. All participants also completed a quick assessment as to what motivates them and students, then evaluated and compared their results in groups. Lastly, groups saw some strategies available to empower themselves and their students.
