Joint Club Board Guidelines
Interpretation and enforcement of these guidelines are left to the discretion of the Joint Club Board (JCB), the St. Ben’s Senate (SBS), and the Saint John’s Senate (SJS).
Organization and Start-Up Requirements
- Membership is open to all undergraduate students exclusively.
- Organizations must choose an advisor (CSB/SJU faculty or staff member).
- Three copies of the constitution and a list of the officers and members (include box and phone numbers) must be turned in to the Joint Club Board Co-Chairs by April 1st.
- All recognized student organizations must participate in all Club Fairs.
- Representation of each club is required at all mandatory meetings set by the JCB.
- Organization’s honorarium policy must be included in the constitution.
- Each organization must sponsor at least one activity/event per semester that is open to all students.
- Organizations must comply with CSB/SJU Joint and separate institutional policies listed in the J-Book and Every Woman’s Guide.
- The purpose of the organization must be consistent with the two institutions’ mission statements.
- Joint organizations must be mutually inclusive in title, apparel, and publicity of both institutions.
- Official Recognition of a student organization is required before they have access to any allocations by the Co-Funding Board once approved, the organization is eligible to access their money according to Co-Funding Board guidelines.
Fund Access Guidelines
- Official recognition of a student organization/club is required before they have access to any allocations. Once approved, the organization/club is eligible to access their money according to Co-Funding Board guidelines.
- Each organization must review and resubmit a constitution yearly, even if no changes occur within their constitution. This will be done in the spring after the new SJS and SBS enter office.
Sanctions
If constitutions are not received on time, even if granted a grace period, honorarium policies violated, and/or failure to adhere to any JCB start-up requirements and guidelines, the JCB reserves the right to take any combination of the following actions:
- Freeze the organization's/club’s constitution
- Directly oversee organization operations
- Other means deemed necessary
