Joint Club Board

The Joint Club Board's mission is to provide recognition, support and leadership enhancement for student clubs at CSB/SJU.

• The JCB consists of two women from the Saint Ben’s Senate (SBS), two men from the Saint John’s Senate (SJS), two representatives from Student Activities, along with one CSB and one SJU club leader.
• It is co-chaired by the SBS and the SJS Student Activities Representatives. 
• The JCB takes an active role in the recognition of campus organizations. Primarily, it evaluates whether a club meets start-up guidelines.  It scrutinizes the constitution of each proposed club and votes on whether to recognize the club or not.
• Once an organization has been officially approved, the JCB works with the organization to ensure that JCB guidelines are being met and that the organization receives the necessary support from the JCB.
• In addition to involvement in the organization recognition process, the JCB reviews club grievances, develops club/organization policy, and is involved in recognizing club achievements annually.
• Per the following Good Faith Agreement, the JCB acts as an advisory board to the Department of Student Activities and Leadership Development.

Joint Club Board Good Faith Agreement

This Good Faith Agreement between the St. Ben’s Senate, the St. John’s Senate, the Joint Club Board, Student Activities and Leadership Development, and Student Development has been entered into by all the parties stated above in recognition of the importance of the Joint Club Board, a student group, as an essential part of the club recognition process.

All parties agree that the Joint Club Board will remain a part of the club recognition process, acting as an advisor to Student Activities and Leadership Development.  The Board must remain active and can not be dissolved by the Senates, Student Activities and Leadership Development or Student Development until another board with a similar composition and purpose is formed.

All parties agree that the student composition of the board shall be comprised of an equal representation from student senators and non-senate student leaders.  Should this composition be subject to change, the proposed change will be reviewed by both Senates. All parties also agree that that the board will always be chaired by senators.
