Women's Month features keynote speaker Saima Wahab

Saima Wahab will deliver the keynote address for Women's Month at the College of Saint Benedict at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12 in Alumnae Hall, Haehn Campus Center. She will share her own story, as well as speak to the experiences of women's empowerment and women in different cultures.


Students visit White House chief of staff

A CSB/SJU study tour of the nation's capital Feb. 21-24 included a short visit with White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, an SJU alumnus.


CSB and SJU students claim top two spots at elevator pitch competition 

Tu Tran, a CSB senior management major from St. Cloud, Minn., placed first in the competition and Anthony Retica, an SJU senior management major from Minnetonka, Minn., was one of three students who tied for second place for his pitch.


The Record claims Best of Show award at newspaper convention 

The award-winning student newspaper at CSB and SJU won Best of Show in the four-year weekly broadsheet category at the 22nd annual Associated Collegiate Press' Best of the Midwest College Journalism Convention.


Saint John's hosts Maple Syrup Festivals 

Maple syruping has been an annual rite of spring at Saint John's since the 1940s when sugar shortages prompted the monastery to learn the maple syrup production process. For 70 years, members of the Saint John's community have carried on this tradition. This year's Maple Syrup Festivals will be held on March 16 and April 6.

College students often seek support from their parents regarding the stressors of college life.  They seek support via various communication methods (phone, text, email) and regarding various issues (academic, financial, relational). Sometimes they are distressed when they contact you.  Here are tips for you.


Career Services adds social networking to the job search toolbox

Social networking can be another tool in your student's job searching "toolbox," and we encourage them to take advantage of it. Career Services is here to help show students how to effectively use social networking to find a job. 


eBooks! eBooks! eBooks -oh my!

Alcuin and Clemens Library has added several thousands of eBooks to our collection. Students can download eBooks to their Nook, iPad, computers and more. Each library has a Nook and iPad to check out, and Clemens Library has a Kindle for students to use. Have your student suggest titles for us to purchase or have them check out our guide.


Notice issued on Fall 2013 registration holds

Registration holds for Fall 2013 have been put on your son or daughter's account if the account is not current. The students have been notified by email that they are on hold for registration in April. If you paid the account in full for January, please check to make sure that your student did not charge their books, educational materials or have other miscellaneous charges after we received that payment. 


Summer jobs available at CSB/SJU

There are many full-time and part-time summer jobs available at CSB/SJU. Summer jobs are open to all students who plan to enroll at CSB/SJU in Fall 2013, and the starting wage is $8.68 per hour. Students interested in working on campus this summer can start applying for jobs now.  All summer student employment positions are posted in the Summer 2013 section on the student employment jobs website.   


Summer housing at Saint John's

Current CSB and SJU students can live in summer housing. Due to the limited number of rooms available, May graduates, students working off campus or attending classes at SCSU cannot live in summer housing. 


Summer storage at Saint John's

Does your student live out of state or internationally? Don't have the ability to transport all his belongings home for the summer months? If so, he may consider storing a few items on a first-come, first-serve basis in our campus storage.


CSB Campus Ministry's Care Package Program supports student service

Bookstores to host Grad Finale

The CSB and SJU Bookstores will host "Grad Finale" for SJU seniors at 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Great Hall and for CSB seniors at 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Gorecki 204. This is a one-day, one-location event where seniors pick up their cap and gown, as well as finalize all their graduation needs with campus departments. Visit our website for additional information.  Diploma frames will be 20 percent off March 8 - 17.  All purchases can be made using credit card, cash or check at the Grad Finale, on our website or by phone 800-420-4509.
