From Career Services: The value of doing an internship

Over the past several years, Career Services has noticed an increase in the number of organizations offering internships to students. Internships give students an opportunity to gain practical work experience. Many students intern in either their junior or senior year, or during the summer between their junior and senior year.

Peer educators promote healthy habits

Over the years, CSB/SJU staff and students have founded four unique peer health promotion programs. Peer-led education is a way of harnessing student-to-student influence to enact positive health changes and establish healthy habits. Through outreach and advocacy our peer educators help to make a healthier and safer environment for all students. A summary of our peer health promotion programs is offered for your information.

Senior Parents: Grad Finale sponsored by the bookstores

The CSB and SJU Bookstores will host Grad Finale on Wednesday, March 19, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. for CSB seniors in Gorecki 204, and Thursday, March 20, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. for SJU seniors in the Great Hall. This is a one-day, one-location event where seniors pick up their cap and gown, as well as finalize graduation needs with campus departments. Parents will receive a letter at the end of February explaining Grad Finale details.

Room selection policy change announced

Effective in the 2014 room selection process, returning students will now be required to be registered for fall courses in order to participate in the on-campus room selection process. All students who wish to select on-campus housing must be registered at least 24 hours in advance of the date on which the room selection process they will participate in takes place.

Brian Jose receives national award for presenting performing arts

Brian Jose, executive director of Fine Arts Programming at CSB/SJU, received the annual North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents Award for Excellence in Presenting the Performing Arts.

Campus Ministry offers opportunities for student involvement

In the coming months Campus Ministry will be hosting a senior mother/daughter retreat and a spring banquet for the members of Companions on a Journey.

Saint Ben's celebrates a century

Online registration is now open for CSB's celebration of the century. All alumnae and friends are invited to join us Saturday, April 26, at The Depot in downtown Minneapolis for an evening of remembrance, connection and fun. Gala tickets are $150 and include a reception, dinner and an after party. If you cannot make the gala, come for the after party with a DJ, dancing and dessert. All proceeds support student scholarships.
