Denis McDonough was named President Obama's chief of staff on Friday, Jan. 25. McDonough graduated summa cum laude from SJU in 1992 with degrees in history and Spanish and played on the Johnnie football team for John Gagliardi. McDonough was a 2012 recipient of an Alumni Achievement Award from SJU.
The CSB Dance Team was crowned the 2013 Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Champions in the Pom Division Sunday, Jan. 20, at the UDA 2013 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships in Orlando, Fla. The team also took second place in the Jazz Division.
Centennial Commons townhomes, a 125-person student housing development on the campus of CSB, has been awarded LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Homes Platinum, the highest level of certification given by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the first college student housing in Minnesota to reach this achievement and the first building on CSB's campus to achieve any level of LEED certification.

Registration is now open for the College of Saint Benedict and Blazer Athletics Summer Camps. While being monitored and instructed by Blazer athletes and coaches, your athlete will hone skills in a positive and high energy environment. The Joint Events Council is excited to host siblings of all ages at Little Sibs Weekend 2013. This annual tradition, scheduled for March 8-10, is an opportunity for siblings, cousins or younger friends of CSB and SJU students to spend a fun-filled weekend on campus. Activities include live comedy and musical performances, movies, arts and crafts, interactive dinner and more. Registration begins Feb. 8. Information can be found at the event's website. Students at Saint John's University have the opportunity to participate in a program called Take a Johnnie to Lunch. The program matches a Saint John's alumnus with a student interested in meeting an alumnus based on a common career interest.
The library staff is committed to helping keep students happy and successful. During study day in December, two massage therapists and cookies helped keep their stress levels down. We received a positive response and hope to do this each semester.
