Career planning concerns? Career Services can help

With the close of the academic year coming in less than two months, the Career Services Office offers this friendly reminder that it is here to assist students with year-end questions, concerns or ideas relating to their summer plans as well as look ahead to next year.

Current first-year and sophomore students should be thinking about getting a resume together, as they will need one if they are considering studying abroad or are exploring internship opportunities for next year. Current juniors should have a working resume and should update it if they plan on job searching or seeking admission to graduate school. The Career Services Office is prepared to help students in any of these endeavors. We encourage all students to consider developing a LinkedIn profile; more employers are using this form of social media to solicit, contact and review potential applicants. The Career Services Office can assist with the profiles.

For students graduating this May in elementary or secondary education, the Minnesota Education Job Fair is on April 8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Registration is open until March 18.  All graduating education majors have been notified of the event and are encouraged to attend. We anticipate over 100 school districts from across the country to attend, with more than 50 percent from Minnesota.
