Aaron Raverty, OSB '77

Project Editor at Liturgical Press focusing on multi-authored volumes, especially dictionaries and encyclopedias. He received B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in anthropology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He also holds an M.A. in systematic theology from Saint John’s University (1977). Certified by the International Graphoanalysis Society (IGAS) as a professional handwriting analyst in 1996, his teaching experience includes Saint John’s Preparatory School, Saint John’s University, and the University of Minnesota. He has served on the Saint John’s University Alumni Association Board of Directors, and he is also a board member of the American Benedictine Academy (ABA). His initial appointment to the Board of Directors of the Monastic Interreligious Dialogue (MID) led him to exchanges with Buddhists in Tibet and Nepal, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Northern India and the U.S.A., and he is now serving a second term on the MID Board. He has been the book review editor for the Monastic Interreligious Dialogue Bulletin since 1998. He assisted with the editorial production of two publications from the SJU Men’s Center for Leadership and Service, and he is currently researching the gendered character of monastic life and seeking publication for the book-length manuscript.
