John earned his BA in economics and accounting from St. John's University in 1970 and his MBA from the University of Minnesota in 1972. John is a CPA (inactive) in Minnesota. John has served on numerous private and public company and non profit boards of directors. John is married to Catherine since 1971 and they have one daughter, Gretchen. John and Cathy reside in West St. Paul, Minnesota.
