The State We're In: Creative and Critical Approaches to Minnesota History at 150. The Minnesota at 150 Conference provides an opportunity to note the 150th anniversary of statehood and to think critically about the nature of the state's past. Where have we done well, who are "we," and what are the various ways of understanding and knowing ourselves and our past? May 2008.
The twice-yearly festivals offer opportunities to see the range of creative and scholarly work produced by faculty, staff, alumnae/i, and friends of the colleges.
The conversation was kicked off by CSB/SJU Professors, Mani Campos, Joe Desjardins, Ernie Diedrich and Christina Tourino and followed by group discussion.
Featured speakers were “good life philosopher” Tony Cunningham, “good life historian” Annette Atkins, “good life practitioner” Richard Bresnahan, and “good life economist” Ernie Diedrich. For more information call 363-5307.
