Meet our students

Ryan Kroschel

Program highlights

  • Student research is stressed throughout all of our natural science disciplines, and that hands-on experience will prepare you for the demands of graduate school
  • Our advisers know you. Our atmosphere of camaraderie between students and faculty, from a variety of disciplines, will help you discover your strengths and abilities
  • We believe healthcare education is about academics AND people. That's why we stress service projects as well as strenuous academic preparation in our pre-professional health programs

In order to be a good health care professional...

...an individual must demonstrate compassion for helping others, the ability to work both individually and with a team, the ability to analyze data, and the ability to effectively communicate with others.  We encourage you to examine this Web site and get in touch with the pre-professional health advisors listed for each health care area.

Have fun, explore your passions and interests, and please be sure to check this page often for announcements.

  • MCAT Registration Opening for June-September Exams

Registration will open for the June through September MCAT test dates on Tuesday, March 11 for testing locations in the U.S., Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of Asia, including new locations in China.  A specific registration opening time March 11th is not currently provided by the AAMC.

Registration will open in early April for June through September testing in Canada.  The registration opening for Canada will be separate from other locations so that the AAMC can add two special, Canada-only administrations to accommodate examinees' summer testing preferences.  Both of these new sessions will be held Saturday, August 9 - one morning and one afternoon session

The announcement for the specific registration opening day will be posted in mid-March on the Canada Web page (http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/canadian.htm).  These additional sessions will not appear on the Schedule of 2008 Test Dates and Times but they will appear within the MCAT Scheduling & Registration System when we open registration in April for the June through September exam dates.

The AAMC website ( www.aamc.org/mcat ) will be updated very soon to reflect this information.  If you have any questions, contact a premed advisor.

  • MEDICAL SCHOOL INFORMATION - The University of Minnesota Medical School will provide five pre-med information sessions this summer.  See the following link for details and registration information.  http://www.meded.umn.edu/apps/admissions/premedinfo/   Space is limited and the same information will be covered in each session.
