POLS 364, Senior Research Seminar: International Relations and Comparative Politics

Description:  POLS 364, Senior Research Seminar/International Relations and Comparative Politics (4 credits); Provides a framework for student participation of the senior thesis in the areas of international relations and comparative politics. Students will study different research methodologies and share the results of their research with other seminar participants. Assigned reading, seminar discussion and individual research project in international relations or comparative politics. Offered every year.

Recommended For:  International Relations and/or Comparative politics track of studies in Political Science.

POLS 364-01A (Prevost): Senior Research Seminar - International Relations and Comparative Politics

Description:  The purpose of this course is to provide a framework within which those students who are interested in international relations and comparative politics can do an extensive research project and write a senior thesis. Students review research methods by studying several different examples of political science research. The mechanics of producing an original research project are reviewed and refined. A wide range of current international topics are discussed through the presentations of each individual student's topic.

Text and Materials:  A guidebook for preparing a research paper and a reader of contemporary political science research.
