Meet The Orientation Leaders (CSB)

Abby Olson: Sophomore

Major/Minor: Dietetics/Sports Medicine and Spanish

Activities: Campus Rec, Blazer Hockey

Favorite part of orientation: My favorite part of orientation was meeting new people and becoming close with those in my orientation group.

Allison Koranda: Junior

Major/Minor: Biology/ Pre-Physical Therapy

Activities: JEC, Biology Club, Sunday School Teacher, VISTO, Discovery Elementary, CSB/SJU Admissions Ambassador

Favorite part of orientation: My favorite part of the orientation experience is meeting new people. Some of my best friends were in my orientation group my first-year.

Why I became an orientation leader: I love meeting new people and orientation is a great way to have fun while doing this.

Allison Wenino: Senior

Activities: Study Abroad, Magis, Companions on a Journey, Psychology TA

Why I became an orientation leader: I want to be an orientation leader because I had a difficult transitional year when I was a first-year at CSB/SJU, and I enjoyed the encouragement I received from others. I feel that my experience over the last few years has changed dramatically, and I can relate to many different people. I hope to make the transitional year easier and more enjoyable for others.

Why I became an orientation leader: I am an orientation leader because I love meeting new people and want to help people feel at home at CSB/SJU.

Amy Hoeschen: Junior

Activites: CSB Senate, Climbing Club, Cribbage Leader, College Democrats, Center for Policy and Civic Engagement, Center for Women

Favorite part of orientation: My favorite part of orientation was casino night. I got really into it and won alot of sweet prizes and met some new people. You really can't go wrong during orientation. You've just got to take advantage of the great activities and the great new people around you.

Amy Weum: Sophomore

Why I became an orientation leader: I absolutely love getting to know people, and I hope I can make the first-years feel more at home during their first year. CSB/SJU is incredible and I want to spread the amazing sense of community that it offers.

Ana Seivert: Sophomore

Why I became an orientation leader: I had a blast during my freshman orientation. I think that it is the best way to get students to communicate and bond with one another, and it makes the transition into classes easy.

Andrea Schiebe: Sophomore

Why I became an orientation leader: I wanted to become an orientation leader because I know the impact they have on incoming students. For me, orientation made the transition into college easier.  I hope to give the students a friendly face that they can recognize and come to with any concerns throughout their college years.

Anna Shoeneberger: Senior

Why I became an orientation leader: I like having fun with the first-years. I also like being able to help them and give them tips and hints for the school year.

Beth Hauth: Junior

Favorite part of orientation: The best part is getting to share all of the activities that we plan for them. Orientation was a great way to begin my college journey and left me with alot of awesome memories.

Beth Johnson: Senior

Why I became an orientation leader: I look forward to being a listening ear and encourager to the class of 2012, as they make this next big step.

Why I became an orientation leader: I'm an orientation leader because I had a great orientation experience, and I want to be able to share that with someone else.

Why I became an orientation leader: My OL was great, and I'm looking forward to passing on that tradition.

Why I became an orientation leader: It provides me with the opportunity to meet new people and share stories that contribute to my love and appreciation for the CSB/SJU community.

Why I became an orientation leader: It is the first week of the best four years of students' lives, and I can't wait to help new students make the transition from scared and unsure to excited and comfortable.

Favorite part of orientation: For me, the best part of first-year orientation was the time spent in our groups. I love meeting new people and really enjoyed finding out the intended majors and personal interests of others in my group. Making those first connections right away made it easy for me to be outgoing, and it helped make St. Ben's feel like home.

Why I became an orientation leader: I want to help first years realize why St. Ben's and St. John's are the best campuses out there, and that the next four years of their lives will be fantastic.
