Climbing Classes

The Outdoor Leadership Center offers classes to get better acquainted with the sport of climbing. 

These classes include Belay and Lead Belay courses as well as special classes offered in bouldering and other more specific topics if interest warrants. 

If you are interested in learning more about the regularly scheduled classes or the more interest based ones, let us know. Then we can work something out or may even be able to help you out on an individual basis.

Belay and Lead Belay Courses

These two classes are offered at the Saint John's Climbing Wall. Both are free.

Belay

Belay courses are offered on Days 1 and 5 of the CSB/SJU class cycle. If you wish to learn how to belay, ask so that the employee responsible can get you started.  (Remember your ID if you wish to climb for free)

Lead Belay*
We also offer lead belay class, but they are on a request basis only. If you are interested in lead climbing, give us a call or email Paul Andersen.

*These classes are offered for free, but by request only, and only if the instructor deems it appropriate for the climbers ability level.
