The city situated in central England provides a wonderful location that combines city life with the English countryside. There is not a CSB/SJU faculty who accompanies this study abroad program. On this program, you direct enroll at Coventry University for the semester. Coventry University is a major UK university of 15,000 students with cutting edge courses and great links in the sports industry in and out of the UK. On this program, courses are specialized in Sports Marketing and Management. On this program, you will take courses with other students from this University in a small set of course choices. The campus is ideally located near city center, so it is close to shops, and restaurants.

Experiential Learning and Activities

Students on this program have a lot of opportunities to get involved on and off campus. A highlight of this program is the required international internship with a sports team at the University or City Club. This is a pre-professional, field-based experience that students can begin to apply classroom theory to practice. An international internship provides an opportunity to experience working life in another country, and challenges pre-conceived notions of cultures and of the professional world.

Accommodations

Participants on the London program will live in furnished flats (apartments) or in on campus residence hall. In the flat, there are single sex bedrooms, but the kitchen and living rooms areas are shared by Johnnies and Bennies. Also residing in the same building, are students from Coventry and other international students. Some meals are included in the program fee, and students have access to shared furnished kitchen facilities in their flats or student residence. Students have use of the computer lab (e-mail and Internet) at the University along with access to the Fitness Center, Library, and student clubs and organizations.

Program Dates

The approximate program dates for Coventry-England are: mid-January to late June (spring semester).
