NUTR 125 introduces the basic concepts of nutrition. You will learn about:
This course is a Natural Science Core course and meets all core guidelines; it is also the first course required for nutrition science and dietetics majors.

A laboratory is required in conjunction with lecture for all students enrolled. Laboratory facilities are housed in Ardolf Science Center and include a chemistry (ASC 131) and a food science classroom (ASC 143). Specific laboratory topics include blood glucose experimentation, cholesterol testing, fitness and body composition evaluation, vegetarian food taste testing, nutritious submarine sandwich construction, and hemoglobin and iron status assessment.
