Food Studies Concentration (32 credits)
The Food Studies Concentration within the nutrition major prepares students for a variety of positions related to food service management, food product development, food science research, and/or food marketing. The prerequisite and supporting courses provide a foundation in economics and business management; the nutrition courses give an overview of the science and social aspects of nutrition and diet, with a strong focus on food science, food preparation, and specific aspects of managing the food service operation. Menu planning, food aesthetics, and recipe development are included in this curriculum.
