Scholarships offered through the CSB/SJU nursing department:

Scholarships offered from outside organizations:

Dear Students,

We invite your application for internal nursing scholarships ranging from $500- $2000 to be awarded for the 2008/2009 school year. The deadline for application for each of these scholarships is Friday, March 6, 2009. The criteria for application and the scholarship award amounts are below. Previous recipients of the scholarships can reapply. In order to be considered for the nursing department scholarships, you must have a cumulative GPA above 3.2. Please note that applications for scholarships awarded by external organizations are handled by the organization and not the nursing department.

Please write a one- or two-page letter of application noting which scholarship(s) you are applying for in the nursing department. Please address the following criteria in your letter: financial need, projected influence of a liberal arts education on your nursing practice, your qualities and strengths, your work experience, academic and leadership accomplishments, and present and future professional goals. Please note if you are applying for the S. Grace Donovan Scholarship your future goals must include an interest in working with the elderly in your future professional goals. If you apply for more than one scholarship, you will only need one letter of application. You need three letters of reference, two from faculty members and a third from another professional. Again, you do not need reference letters for each scholarship. One reference letter from each person that addresses the criteria is sufficient.

All materials must be received no later than 4:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2009, to be considered for the scholarships.  Materials can be sent to:
