Application and Acceptance to the Major - Class of 2012

The following information is provided for students intending to apply to the Nursing program in Fall 2009 (Class of 2012). Materials/Forms required for application include:

All materials are due in one packet by December 1, 2009. Applicants must keep photocopies of all submitted materials.

 

CPR Certification

Students must provide documentation of successful completion of the American Heart Association CPR Course: BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider. Other types of CPR courses do not meet this requirement (including Red Cross). This course should be taken during the summer before applying to the major, and is valid for two years. A photocopy (both sides) of your signed CPR card is required for application to the major.

Acceptance Process

Applications to the major are reviewed annually in December. Acceptance decisions will be deferred until after fall term grades are posted (course grades are due in the registrar's office about ten days after the last day of final exams). Students will be notified of acceptance decisions via campus e-mail accounts in early January. Academic Advising will assist students with any necessary re-registration for Spring term.
