1973/74 Dedication

Over the past nine months excitement has been building over this fantastic opportunity to completely renovate the 4th floor of Main Building. It probably looks today much like it did when you were here. What pictures come to your mind?  What do you remember about your experiences as a student?  Where are you today and has your Benedictine education been helpful to you?

As you have grown in your journey in health care, sadly, not much has changed in our facilities at CSB. There are still 2 classrooms, curtains separating the hospital beds, and a 1979 cardiac monitor! It is time to transform the 4th floor. We aren't building a new building, but using our existing space to create a new environment in order to have our students on the cutting edge of nursing care. There will be simulation labs and contemporary classrooms to promote critical thinking and hands-on care. This will allow students to practice in ways that will prepare them for our technologically complex health care system.

CSB/SJU is proud of the legacy of the nursing program and its graduates. Our students are bright young women and men who continue to pass their NCLEX exam at levels exceeding 90%. In 2009 and 2010 we were among the highest ranked nursing programs in the state of Minnesota.  Also, the nursing program continues to be one of the toughest academic programs on campus!  Our nurses continue to be highly regarded as they vibrantly bring Benedictine values into their nursing career. Thank you!

We do need your help. We would like to dedicate the nurses' station in our new facility to the students of 1973 and 1974...our inaugural classes. This will require that we secure $75,000 in your names. Your gift will be earmarked for the beautiful and fully functional nurses' station with a commemoration to you.  If your gift is in the form of a planned gift that is exciting too.  An endowment will help us to defray cost later when new equipment is needed.

Thank you for your support and consideration.  If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or 320-363-5223. Please check our website ( after June 1 for updates on our 1973/74 progress.
