| I am currently back in MN after many years in AK to attend the UMN School of Nursing graduate program in Psych/Mental Health-CNS. I will graduate in May, 2004, and return to a position with Providence Hospital as an APN in an OP setting. I am currently in a clinical rotation at the VAMC in St. Cloud, MN, where I did my undergraduate psych clinical rotation 25+ years ago. Isn't it amazing how life comes full circle! I have one son at home (HS junior), one son at St. John's University (junior) and a daughter with a BS in Nursing who works L&D in Achorage, AK. The CSB Nursing program prepared me to be a leader in my nursing career. I have been proud to be a graduate of CSB/SJU because of its reputation for providing excellence in academics. 2/15/04

Hey everyone. Quick update. After graduation, I headed to Fort Bragg, NC and worked Medicine and Telemetry for 11 months. Last year, I headed to Kandahar, Afghanistan and was head nurse for a 20-bed med-surg ward for combat casualties (GSW, landmine) for 8 months with an airborne infantry division. I came back to Ft. Bragg and worked the ER for three months before being sent to Fort Sam Houston, TX for the Army's 4-month course in trauma course. Many of our classes spur from the Army's cutting edge research on trauma. It's very exciting stuff. This May, I am going to Germany for three years to work in a MASH unit. I will also be working the ER at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. 2/19/04 Burgett, Valerie vglorified@aol.com | |
