Recently, Saint John's and Saint Ben's lost a dear friend and illustrious alumnus, Senator Eugene J. McCarthy '35. To commemorate Senator McCarthy's brilliant life of service to others and to celebrate his contributions to the political, intellectual and spiritual life of America, Saint John's will host a mememorial service on Monday, January 23 at 4 p.m. in the Abbey/University Church.  More information

CSB/SJU to Host Festival of Scholarship and Creativity
The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University will host a Festival of Scholarship and Creativity at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in Quad 264 on the SJU campus. The event is free and open to the public

Pastiche in Concert at the Basilica of Saint Mary
Faculty memebers from the CSB/SJU music department will present a concert in Minneapolis on Friday, February 17. The ensemble known as Pastiche will perform beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Basilica of Saint Mary.

Transforming the World: Being Catholic and Public in the 21st Century
The opportunities and challenges of public Catholicism will be addressed in three Saturday morning sessions. These discussiosn will take place in Eden Prairie, MN.

CSB/SJU is pleased to announce the return of CitiesStock, a gathering of CSB/SJU alumnae/i in the Twin Cities featuring performances by former student bands of the past 10 years. This year's CitiesStock is at Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub on Saturday, February 4th.

The Minnesota Private Colleges Annual Job & Internship Fair Reception
The Alumnae/i Associations of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University are sponsoring the annual Job and Internship Fair Reception in the Twin Cities area for current CSB and SJU students. The Alumnae/i Associations invite you to attend the reception on Monday, February 27th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Securian (formerly Minnesota Mutual) in downtown St. Paul.

CSB/SJU Awarded Teagle Grant
The Teagle Foundation of New York City has awarded the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University a grant of $91,657. Led by project director Daniel McKanan, CSB/SJU associate professor of theology, the grant will fund an investigation into the topic of controversial conversations in the context of a faith-based, liberal arts college.

Benedictine Center for Lifelong Learning Offers Study-Travel Opportunities
BCLL study-travel offerings are designed for the inquisitive lifelong learner who enjoys group travel and seeks new intellectual and cultural experiences. Open to all, the BCLL trips seek to use CSB/SJU connections and incorporate activities generally not available to tourists.

Contest for H.S. Students to Recognize Interest in Public Policy
Students from public and private high schools from across the Upper Midwest are invited to enter the first College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University Public Policy Learning Community Essay Contest.

CSB and SJU in Trinidad
Trinidad alumnae Christie Dowden ’05 and Renee Sandy ’05 joined faculty and students in early January for a dinner reception for alums, their families and Feroza Nagassar, who works with Trinidad high school students interested in CSB and SJU.
