Edward Farmer speaks on “China’s Emergence in the Global Transformation”

Edward L. Farmer, professor of history at the University of Minnesota, will give a public lecture titled “From Revolution to Consumption: China’s Emergence in the Global Transformation” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Alumnae Hall in the Haehn Campus Center, College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph.

Farmer is a renowned scholar and teacher of East Asian history. His talk will explore the intersection, over the last three decades, of two major world developments: the globalization of the information age and the rise of post-revolutionary China.
