Commencement Web-Cast Information

Commencement 2004 Webcast Information

For the first time ever, we will be offering a live video web-cast of an event here at CSB|SJU.  We will be webcasting the commencement ceremonies at both CSB and SJU.  Please read the following information to ensure a smooth viewing process.

When What You Will Need  |  What to Expect  |  How to Watch  |   Feedback

When?

The webcast will start at 12 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.  This will give you a chance to check that your setup is working beforehand.   The commencement ceremony starts at 2 p.m.

What you will need.

What to expect.

The ceremonies will be broadcasted at 2 rates, namely 56K, and 150K.  If you have a 56K modem, you can expect a mostly clear picture, with some of the color and motion being a little choppy.  The sound will be fine.

If your internet connection is capable of handling a connection of 150K, such as a broadband or DSL connection, you will see a substantially clearer picture, and noticeably smoother motion than you would with a 56K connection.

The service is limited by our available internet bandwidth here at CSB|SJU.  We will be able to handle from 60 to 150 connections, depending upon the mix of connections speeds.  If the system reaches capacity, you will receive a popup message telling you that capacity has been reached, and that you should try again later.

If you are unable to view the live ceremony due to capacity constraints, we will be making the broadcast available via the web by Monday afternoon (5/10).  You will be able to view this at any time, free of charge.   (See below for these links.)  Also don't forget that a video of the ceremony is available from Media Services.  Contact Dan Sis via email at dsis@csbsju.edu for more details.

How to watch!

You may watch the ceremony any time by following these links:
