Five College of Saint Benedict students were accepted into the first cohort for CSB’s Center for Ethical Leadership in Action
Junior sociology major Padra Xiong, junior nutrition and psychology major Theng Yeng Xiong, junior political science and theology major Nomin Angarag, sophomore gender studies and Hispanic studies major Lucy Dornbach and first-year political science and theology major Lesly Gonzalez-Barragan were accepted into the program after going through an application process.
The Center for Ethical Leadership in Action was created through an anonymous $10 million gift to CSB in November. The gift allowed CSB to create a permanent endowment fund, which will subsidize the operations of the Center, including the support of experiential learning as well as a mentoring program and speaker series.
Each member of the cohort will receive a $5,000 stipend and a $1,000 living stipend to support an internship this summer. The internships will foster a variety of experiences – from policy-making to human resources to public health.
In the beginning of the summer, the cohort will attend training sessions and participate in a mentorship program through the Center.
