MaryAnn Baenninger, president of the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, and Dan Whalen, interim president of Saint John’s University in Collegeville, today announced the appointment of Cal Mosley as vice president of admission and financial aid.

In a joint announcement to the campus communities, Baenninger and Whalen said, “Cal is an excellent choice for CSB/SJU. We are very excited that he has accepted our offer to join us as vice president. He has a wealth of experience in admission and financial aid, where he is a recognized leader nationally.”

Mosley’s admission career spans 42 years. He has served as interim dean of admission for CSB/SJU since November 2008. Prior to coming to CSB/SJU last fall, he served in senior admission leadership positions at the College of St. Catherine for 11 years and Hamline University for five years. Both institutions are located in St. Paul, Minn. He also worked for 20 years at Harvard in admission administrative positions for both the undergraduate college and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at the university level.

Mosley earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, his master’s of education in student personnel administration from Springfield College in Massachusetts and his doctorate in administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. In addition, Cal serves on the faculty of the Summer Institute of College Admission at Harvard where he teaches classes on admission operations and social policy.

In his new role, Mosley will be responsible for all undergraduate admission activities and financial aid services at CSB/SJU.
