CSB and SJU to present holiday concert at Basilica of Saint Mary

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University will present “Celebrating the Season” holiday concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.

Performing groups include the Amadeus Chamber Symphony, directed by Axel Theimer; CSB/SJU Brass Choir, directed by Dale White; CSB Campus Singers, directed by Teri Larson; CSB/SJU Chamber Choir, directed by Theimer; St. John’s Boys’ Choir, directed by André Heywood; and SJU Men’s Chorus, directed by Theimer.

This year’s program features music by Franz Joseph Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn, Antonio Vivaldi, Jacobus Gallus, Richard Strauss, George F. Handel, Z. Randall Stroope, Eric Whitacre, Benjamin Britten and others.

Advance tickets to “Celebrating the Season” will be available until noon on Saturday, Dec. 5, and at the door beginning at 7:30 p.m. that night. Prices are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors (60 and over) and children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at:
