Three employee recognition events honor administrative and support staff

Three employee recognition events were held in May to honor administrative and support staff from the College of Saint Benedict, Saint John's University and the Order of Saint Benedict.

Employees were recognized for retirement and years of service. In addition, the Fr. Vincent Tegeder, OSB, Outstanding Administrator Award was presented to David Lyndgaard, associate dean, Academic Affairs.

OSB Outstanding Administrator Award

David Lyndgaard, Academic Affairs. The award, named in honor of Fr. Vincent Tegeder, OSB, recognizes service and excellence within the Saint John's administrative community — someone who embodies the spirit of Saint John's, provides quality service and makes a powerful contribution to Saint John's. Lyndgaard, a 1974 SJU graduate, has worked many roles at SJU, including admission, coaching track and cross country, assistant registrar, registrar, director of the academic budget and associate dean.

"He has 41 years of excellent and dedicated service," SJU President Michael Hemesath said. "His calming demeanor and versatility have contributed greatly to our growth and development as institutions."

The other nominees for the award were Ryan Kutter (pottery studio) and Kathy Parker (library).

"One constant stood out in the nominations of all three candidates and that is how their core values align to the Benedictine Values that are so much a part of the culture at Saint John's," Hemesath said.
