For 24 hours, Give CSB Day and Give SJU Day raised funds for scholarships at both schools.

Here are what the totals looked like when all was said and done:

  • CSB raised a total of $422,142.09, which includes matching grant donors. A total of 1,013 donors contributed, with the average gift $175, excluding the challenge donorships.
  • SJU raised a total of $401,055, which includes matching grant donors. A total of 1,032 donors contributed, with the average gift $281, excluding the matching grant donors.

“We may have not reached our big goal of $450,000, but we ended up with our best giving day ever in total dollars raised,” said Maggie Weber Utsch ’00, director of annual giving at CSB. “It is overwhelming to think about the 1,013 donors who took time out of their busy day to support CSB.

“That is such a powerful statement of support for our students. I cannot say ‘thank you’ enough to our Saint Ben’s community.”

“This year, Give SJU Day was powered by the SJU Alumni Association,” said Raj Chaphalkar ’08, director of annual giving at SJU. “Many people love SJU deeply and chose to share it with new Johnnies by making scholarships possible.

“I am always moved to see gifts from donors of all backgrounds, supporting students of all backgrounds. What they all share is Saint John’s. We are incredibly grateful for the gift of this community.”
