Day at CapitolNot all learning at college happens within the confines of four walls.  Case in point—on Wednesday, Feb. 22, College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University students took their learning to the State Capital in St. Paul, Minnesota. The students participated in “Day at the Capitol” sponsored by the Minnesota Private College Council (MPCC).

The students – nine from CSB and 10 from SJU – met with their hometown lawmakers to talk about the importance of the State Grant program and encourage them to continue to support the program. The State Grant program provides critical support to almost 100,000 Minnesotans each year — that’s one in four undergraduates at public and private colleges.

The MPCC provides training and materials to the students and makes legislative appointments for the participants.
