A forum featuring seven Republican gubernatorial candidates will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Alumnae Hall, Haehn Campus Center, College of Saint Benedict.
The event, which begins with appetizers at 6 p.m., is free and open to the public. It is cosponsored by the College Republicans at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University and the Eugene J. McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement at CSB and SJU.
The candidates who have confirmed that they will participate in the forum include State Reps. Tom Emmer (Delano) and Marty Seifert (Marshall); former state auditor Pat Anderson; Bill Haas, a former state representative; Phil Herwig, an activist from Milaca; State Sen. David Hann (Eden Prairie); and Leslie Davis, a businessman and activist.
Each candidate will make a short presentation highlighting their platform, followed by questions from the audience. Audience members will also be able to meet and greet the candidates before and after the forum.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced in June that he will not seek a third term as Minnesota’s governor in 2010.
