The College of Saint Benedict will induct 12 new members into the Omega Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES) during a ceremony Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Haehn Campus Center (HCC) on the CSB campus.
The program begins at 11:45 a.m. with a brunch at Alumnae Hall in the HCC, followed by the induction ceremony. The inductees will receive a DES pin and a certificate of membership.
DES, a national Catholic honor society for women, is considered CSB’s highest honor for a student. The Omega Chapter of DES was chartered March 29, 1940, at CSB. The applicants must maintain a 3.9 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must be very involved in the community through volunteer and extra curricular activities.
The purpose of DES is to recognize academic accomplishments, dedication to intellectual activity and service to others.

The 12 inductees are eligible for national DES scholarships. Seniors can apply for a $1,000 post-graduate scholarship, while juniors can apply for a $1,000 undergraduate scholarship.
