Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University is proud to present the visual arts exhibits of Andrea Shaker – “Waiting in Exile,” and Bethany Kalk – “Doubtful Advantage,” August 28 – October 15, at the Gorecki Gallery and Gallery Lounge on the CSB campus.

Andrea Shaker, CSB/SJU professor of art, presents “Waiting in Exile,” an exhibition of photographs and digital media which draws from personal and political narratives of exile, loss and struggle.

Bethany Kalk’s encaustic paintings of “Doubtful Advantage” are a combination and juxtaposition of realism, graphic design, illustration and tattooing which contrast growth/decay and calm/chaos in multiple layers of imagery.

Please join Shaker and Kalk for a public reception Friday, Sept. 22, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., in the Benedicta Arts Center Gorecki Gallery and Gallery Lounge.

The 2006-2007 Visual Arts Series is sponsored by St. Cloud Sprint with additional funding from Target Corporation, Minnesota State Arts Board and the National Endowment for the Arts.

For more information or for a tour of the exhibit call the CSB office at 320-363-5777 or visit the Fine Arts Web site.
