The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Asia Club and Asian Studies Learning Community hosted the 2006 Asian New Year Celebration on Jan. 28, in the Clemens Field House in the Haehn Campus Center at CSB.
The celebration was a chance for students, faculty and the general public to learn about, experience and enjoy Asian cultures.
The celebration includes Tibetan Dancers; Malaysian drummers, Indian dancers and Taiko Arashi drummers from St. Cloud State University; Thai/Hmong dancers from Minneapolis; and CSB/SJU student performers. Food available includes butter chicken curry, vegetable masala, egg roll and jasmine rice. Other activities include a traditional outfit boutique, calligraphy and art gallery.
