As a senior, Eugene McCarthy (front row, second skater from right) helped Saint John’s win their first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in hockey with an undefeated record in 1935. McCarthy was the leading scorer on the team . Eugene’s younger brother, Austin, is in the back row, third from right.
