Men's Lives Series Overview
Since the 1995-1996 school year, the Men's Lives Series provides students of Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict with the opportunity to examine men's issues. The Men's Lives Series encourages dialogue on difficult issues involving masculinity, men’s role in society, patriarchy, and the important role of gender in society. The Men’s Lives Series brings in scholars from various fields from around the nation, putting CSB/SJU students and faculty at the heart of the ongoing discussions involving men’s issues. While seeking to provide students with intellectual growth, the series seeks to provide men with the opportunity to integrate spiritual, psychological, physical, emotional and intellectual selves and to use this self-understanding as a basis for taking action in the world.
The College of Saint Benedict also offers a Women's Lives Series, this series provides CSB/SJU students an opportunity examine women's issues.
