CSB/SJU Media Technical Services Billing and Service Policy

Billing Policy

Media Services is an academic department and our function is to provide classroom support for all SJU and CSB academic programs. As such, Media Services will not charge for services provided as classroom support for any CSB/SJU academic department. An academic program is one that is funded through tuition dollars and awards college credit for successful completion of course work.

Media Services will need to be reimbursed for any materials, such as audio/video tapes used in providing service for an academic event. Media Services will also charge academic departments for services provided that exceed $25 in value for events not directly related to an academic activity required of students to earn their degree. This would include seminars and workshops not paid for with tuition dollars.

All on campus CSB/SJU clubs and organizations not funded by tuition dollars will need to reimburse Media Services for all services provided as follows: All labor cost are charged out at the posted rate. All equipment cost are charged out at 50% of the posted rate. $25 is deducted from the cost of each event.

All services provided for outside organizations using the College of St. Benedict or St. John's University facilities will be charged for all services provided, including labor, equipment, and materials at the posted rate.

Service Policy

Media Services will provide requested services and equipment to the best of its ability. Media Services cannot however guarantee the ability to accommodate all requests due to the finite amount of labor and equipment available. Media Services only accommodates on campus events. Media Services is not equipped to handle off campus events, even if the College of St. Benedict or St. John's University sponsors the event.

Late Request Policy

Due to the limited Media Resources all media request for services outside of business hours (8AM – 4:30PM, M-F) must be made at least two business days prior to the event. Any request received within two days of an event is considered late and will be accommodated to the best of our ability. When a late request is covered there will be a $24.00 "late request" fee imposed to cover the additional cost involved in coordinating the late request. This late request applies to ALL patrons of Media Services including academic and non-academic departments of St. John’s University and the College of St. Benedict, as well as all off campus groups.
