French Tutor/Teaching Assistant
Qualifications:
Student must be in French 212 or higher and have a recommendation from a CSB/SJU French Faculty member.
Student must have the ability to communicate grammatical and stylistic points to students in 100 or 200 level courses.
She/He should be able to teach effectively on a one-to-one basis and to conduct small group sessions.
She/He must be willing to attend tutoring workshops provided by the MCLL Department.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to tutor French 111-211 students who need help with homework and studying. Includes regular review and drill work, correction activities and help in preparing for exams.
- Help faculty with grading of homework, tests, and quizzes for lower division.
- General office or teacher assistance such as duplicating, phone answering, mailing and errands as time permits.
- Students at the 312 level or higher (or native or fluent speakers) might help faculty and students with French 212 and 311.
