Planning a Math Review

Where to Start

Students who have not yet met the math proficiency requirement

  1. First, have you taken the math proficiency exam recently?   If so, you can make an appointment to see which questions you missed, and start with reviewing those topics.  (There is a link to an "appointment request form" on the Math Skills Center page.)
  2. If you have not taken the math proficiency exam within the current semester, then you might want to start by taking (or retaking) it.  Then you will have a better idea of what areas to concentrate your study on. (Use the link to the "test appointment form" on the Math Skills Center page, or see one of the tutors in the Center).
  3. You can come to the Math Skills Center and work on a practice test and get help from the student tutors.
  4. You can use the link to "websites for math practice" to get online tutorials and practice quizzes

Students who would like to review certain areas or topics

  1. There are materials on algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus that are available at both centers.  These include books that can be checked out, computer programs that you can use, and worksheets that you can discuss with a tutor.  Use the "appointment request form" on the Math Skills Center page to set up a time to discuss a personalized review plan.
  2. Use the link to "websites for math practice" to access online tutorials.
