Looking for math help?
Are you stuck on a homework problem?
Have you forgotten how to do a certain procedure?
Do you want a place to study and get assistance?
The CSB/SJU Math Skills Centers offer assistance with concepts and skills used in 100-level math classes.
You can come in on a walk-in basis just to get a question answered, stay and work for awhile and get help if needed, or have scheduled appointments
The Math Skills Center can help you with:
- meeting the math course prerequisite requirement (preparing for and taking the math proficiency or QSI exam)
- reviewing math topics from Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus
- studying/working on assignments for math classes or other courses with math applications
- preparing for the math sections of standardized tests (GRE, PPST, etc.)

Best times to come for:
Math 114 (math explorations) - try any open hours--often we may be familiar with the topics you are working on; sometimes we may not, but can work with you to figure it out.
Math 115 (precalculus) - any open hours
Math 118 (essential calculus)- any open hours
Math 119 (calculus I) - any open hours
Math 120 (calculus II) - any open hours
Math 121 (fundamentals of math) - any open hours
Math 180 (fundamentals II) - any open hours
Math 122 (finite math) - CSB on odd days; SJU on even days; and when the CA for your class has tutor hours at the center
Math 124 (prob&stats) - CSB on odd days; SJU on even days; and when the CA for your class has tutor hours at the center
You can arrange for an individualized program of study/review or just drop in for help as you need it. Resources available for you to use include videotaped lessons, text/workbooks, computerized review lessons, practice problem sheets, and live tutoring assistance.
The Math Skills Center director will usually be available at the CSB location on days 1-3-5 and at the SJU location on days 2-4-6 .
