Memories of the Holocaust to be shared

Stories of serving and surviving the Nazis will be presented by the Jay Phillips Center at 4:15 p.m., April 22, in 204B Gorecki, at College of Saint Benedict. The program will feature Ursula Mahlendorf, professor emerita of German, Slavic, and Semitic studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and author of the recently published memoir The Shame of Survival: Working Through a Nazi Childhood, and Maria Segal, a Holocaust survivor and author of Maria's Story: Childhood Memories of the Holocaust. The program will feature a dialogue between the authors and stories drawn from their memoirs. The event is presented in cooperation with the CSB/SJU department of modern and classical languages, Global Awareness Lecture Series, and the Gender and Women's Studies Program.
