CSB "Book Lovers Night" features author Bill Meissner

Bill Meissner, author of Spirits in the Grass, is the featured guest at CSB's "Book Lovers Night" Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Alumnae Hall, Haehn Campus Center, CSB.

The doors open at 6:15 p.m., community members will recommend some favorite books at 6:45 p.m. and Meissner will speak at 7 p.m.

Spirits in the Grass, Meissner's most recent book, won the 2008 Midwest Book Award for Fiction from the Midwest Booksellers Association. His other works of fiction are Hitting into the Wind (Random House) and The Road to Cosmos (University of Notre Dame Press, 2006).  He also wrote four books of poetry, including American Compass (University of Notre Dame Press, 2004).

In addition to writing, Meissner serves as the director of creative writing at St. Cloud State University.
