Victoria Redel teaches at Sarah Lawrence College, the Columbia University Graduate Writing Program, and the Vermont College MFA Program in Creative Writing. She has two books of poetry, Swoon and Already the World and a collection of short fiction, Where the Road Bottoms Out (1995). Redel has received a fellowship in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center, as well as the Tom and Stan Wick Poetry Prize.
Redel’s novel, Loverboy, was awarded the first S. Mariella Gable Novel Award and was selected as a Borders Original Voice, a Paperback Book Club Featured Selection, and a BookSense 76 selection. The film version of Loverboy, directed by Kevin Bacon and starring Kyra Sedgewick, premiered this year at the Sundance film Festival.
