Sarah Vowell

Sarah Vowell is co-presented with the CSB Fine Arts Programming.
Sarah Vowell is the New York Times' bestselling author of six nonfiction books on American history. Her latest book titled Unfamiliar Fishes examines the influence of American missionaries in Hawaii in the 1800s; however, the subjects for her other books range from the New England Puritans to presidential murders. In addition to these six books, Vowell is the author of two essay collections and a contributing editor for NPR's "This American Life." She has been published in several newspapers and has served as a guest columnist for The New York Times.

Scott Russell Sanders

Scott Russell Sanders is the author of twenty fiction and nonfiction books, and his newest book titled Earth Works: Selected Essays will be published in the spring of 2012. He has received awards and fellowships that include the Mark Twain Award, Cecil Woods Award for Nonfiction, and National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. In addition, Sanders taught at Indiana University from 1971 to 2009, where he remains a Distinguished Professor Emiritus of English.
