Minigrant Program

One of the development opportunities for faculty, support staff, and administrators, related to the CSB Theological Exploration of Vocation programming is a Mini-Grants Program. The goals for this program are to:

• assist faculty in examining the relevance of vocational themes for teaching particular disciplinary studies.
• support staff members’ efforts to incorporate knowledge on vocation into their work with students.

The guidelines for submitting proposals are as follows:

1. Describe what it is you propose to do. If it is a team project, identify those who will be involved and the nature of their involvement.
2. Show how this advances one or more of the grant initiative’s goals. Identify the likely participants or beneficiaries of your project.
3. Outline the feasibility of this proposal and the timetable for implementation.
4. Recount the expected results and benefits of this proposal.
5. Include a letter of support from your department chairperson or supervisor.
6. Identify the costs involved and any other funding sources.
7. Indicate the means to be used in evaluating and reporting the results.

Grant awards will generally not exceed $2,000. Typically, $750 will be awarded for course or program modification; $1500 will be awarded for new course or program development; awards for co-curricular programming will vary. Proposals submitted by the first of the month will be reviewed that month by a committee. Notification will be given within six weeks of proposal submission.

Project Criteria Preference will be given to funding proposals which address as many of the following as possible:

1. Professional transformation;
2. Interdisciplinary involvement (between academic disciplines and administrative departments);
3. Impact on students;
4. Extension beyond the campus community.

You may create your proposal in Microsoft Word and e-mail it as an attachment to Dr. Marian Diaz, Interim Director, with the subject heading “Mini-grant proposal.” or send a hard copy to Main 447.
