Women's Healthy Choices

The Women's Healthy Choices Series is designed to help women take responsibility in their personal lives in the area of health and wellness so they can be fit and healthy leaders. The topics and programs in this series will change each year and may include: discussions, reading groups, film series, and physical activities.

The topic for Fall 2009 is "Sexual Health."

In September, there was a reading group with theology professor Dr. Kari-Shane Davis Zimmerman on the book Unhooked: How Young Women Pursue Sex, Delay Love, and Lose at Both by Laura Sessions Stepp, which discussed the "hook-up" culture of young women, and how that relates to the CSB campus. The reading group met on September 14th, 21st, and 28th.

On October 12, there was a discussion on healthy relationships with theology professor Kathryn Cox, which challenged students to examine the role of intimacy in their lives and helped them consider what being in a healthy relationship means, while providing the opportunity to reflect on personal beliefs in order to make educated decisions.
